PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately reproduce a signal by eliminating the existence of plural domains within a spot diameter of a laser beam at the time of reproducing the signal. SOLUTION: In this magneto-optical disk device, an inverted region detecting circuit 13 detects a length L of the region made to uprise to the temperature or higher at which a magnetic film of a magneto-optical recording medium 1 can be inverted in magnetization by an external magnetic field by a laser beam, based on a magneto-optical signal detected by an optical head 2. A driving signal generation circuit 15 generates such a driving signal as an interval between domains formed on the magneto-optical recording medium 1 becomes longer than L based on the record signal modulated to a predetermined method by a modulation circuit 16 and the detection result of the inverted region detecting circuit 13 outputted from a control circuit 14. And, based on the generated driving signal, the signal is recorded by driving a semiconductor laser in a magnetic head or an optical head 2.
