WATER CUT-OFF TAPE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a out-off tape having little amount of water absorption fallout of a water-absorbing resin and high coefficient of expansion (thickness increasing coefficient) and capable of displaying an excellent cut-off effect at a gap between a shut-off layer constituting an insulating power cable and metal sheath being of corrugate shaped in vertical section. SOLUTION: A cut-off tape 10 includes a water-absorbing resin within a foundation cloth which is made semiconductive. In this cut-off tape 10, a surface of fiber 11 constituting the semiconductive cloth is covered with the water- absorbing resin. A manufacturing method of the cut-off tape 10 includes a process of preparing the water-absorbing resin by cross-linking a water-soluble resin after including the water-soluble resin into the made semiconductive cloth.
