THREE-DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY DISTRIBUTED NETWORK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a 3D-GUI using a VRML to a CORBA(common object request broker architecture) base NMS(distributed network management system). SOLUTION: This system is constituted of an NMS basic part 10 provided with a module 11 of a managing function or a CORBA service and a GUI part 20, provided with a GUI scene 21 and a GUI Applet 22. An interface between the NMS basic part 10 and the GUI part 20 is described by an IDL. The GUI scene 21 is provided with a network constitution display means 211 described by a VRML and a GUI Applet interface means 222. The GUI Applet 22 is provided with a GUI part display means 221, GUI scene interface means 222, CORBA object access means 223 for making access to the module 11, CORBA message-receiving means 224 for receiving messages form the module 11, and GUI preparing means 225.
