PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that eliminates dust or dirt regardless of a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The dust eliminating device for a video display tube 2 eliminates dust deposited on the video display tube 2 mounted in a cabinet 1. First turning shafts 3, 3' and second turning shafts 4, 4' are placed at the outside of corresponding sides of the video display tube 2, a 1st roller 7 and a 2nd roller 8 are mounted respectively to the 1st shafts 3, 3' and the 2nd shafts 4, 4', a tip of a flexible transparent coating cover 10 wound on the 1st roller 7 is wound on the 2nd roller 8. Then a motor 5 drives at least either of the 1st shafts 3, 3' and the 2nd shafts 4, 4', a belt 14 is extended between pulleys 6, 6' fixed respectively to the 1st shafts 3, 3' and the 2nd shafts 4, 4'. When dust is deposited on the cover 10 to cover the surface of the video display tube 2, power switches 11a, 11b are closed and the motor 5 drives the cover 10 on the video display tube 2 to eliminate the dust on the video display tube 2.
