PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize efficient multi-values dither matrix correction even in the case of a large multi-valued dither matrix size. SOLUTION: In this optimizing device, information of a multi-values dither matrix is inputted from a multi-values dither matrix/gene information conversion part 3 to a multi-valued dither output part 1 as the multi-valued dither matrix and is set as parameters for output. A multi-valued dither output part 1 generates the multi-valued dither output of a preliminarily determined pattern in accordance with the set multi-valued dither matrix. Each pattern of the multi-valued dither output outputted from the multi-valued dither output part 1 is inputted to a multivalued dither output level read part 2, and the output level is read and is stored in a genetic algorithm processing part 4. In the genetic algorithm processing part 4, the adaptability of each gene is discriminated based on the multi-valued dither output level of each pattern to advance optimization of the multi-valued dither matrix.
