PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve a processing load of a microcomputer of the data processor where data communication is conducted by using a serial bus in compliance with the IEEE1394 standards. SOLUTION: A label addition device 9 of the data processing unit 1 adds a label to be added to a succeeding request packet to a response packet received by a packet receiver 4 from an IEEE1394 bus 6 to generate a storage response packet so that respective storage response packets have their own label and the label to be added to the succeeding response packet. When a plurality of the storage response packets are stored in a microcomputer 2, since a plurality of the response packets are structured to be a list where the label added to the succeeding response packet is used for a pointer, when a plurality of the response packets are acquired as a series of the response packets, since the processing by the microcomputer to arrange and store the response packets is not required, then a prescribed load of the microcomputer 2 can be relieved.
