PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an operation by reducing a size of a semiconductor memory device and power consumption and decreasing power source noises. SOLUTION: The semiconductor memory device has a pad block 251 having many pads arranged between a first and a second memory banks 211 and 221 for storing data, a first and a second input/output parts 241 and 242 for exchanging data to the outside through the pad block 251, a delay synchronous loop circuit 243 for stabilizing a frequency of an external clock signal input through the pad block 251 and generating an internal clock signal, and an interface logic 231 for controlling the input/output parts 241 and 242 and memory banks 211 and 221 in synchronization with the internal clock signal. In the device, a data shift block 261 is arranged adjacent to either of an upper and a lower ends of the pad block 251, which operates synchronously with the internal clock signal, exchanges data to the first and second input/output parts 241 and 242 through a first and a second wiring groups constituted of a plurality of wirings, and exchanges data to the memory banks 211 and 221 through a third and a fourth wiring groups constituted of wirings of n times (n=2, 3,...) the number of the plurality of wirings.
