PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor module with sufficient moisture- resistance and appropriate for cost reduction. SOLUTION: On a support surface of a platform comprising this module, an optical semiconductor element and an optical element are provided. The optical element is coupled optically with the optical semiconductor element at its optical-coupling end surface. A protective member 6 covers the optical semiconductor element while provided in a region where a light propagates, between the optical semiconductor element and the optical-coupling end surface of the optical element. The protective member 6 comprises a gel-like acrylic denaturation resin.
