PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the degradation in quality of pictures due to aberrations of a lens with a high precision without complicated correction data setting operation. SOLUTION: In this picture processing method, an operator is demanded to designate plural positions, which should originally resemble each other in density or tint though being different in density or tint on a display picture, on a simulation picture (120) after the picture represented by picture data is displayed on a display device. When plural positions are designated, the inclination of the change of the density between plural designated positions is calculated for each color component, and the extent of reduction of the density in each part of the picture due to peripheral light reduction of the lens is estimated based on the inclination of the density change with respect to each color component so that it may be vertically and horizontally symmetrical with respect to the center part of the picture, and density correction values for correction of densities of individual color components in each part of the picture are set to a peripheral light reduction correction table (124 and 126). |
