PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera simple in the structure of a mechanical light shielding means, reduced in the number of parts and capable of dealing with even a high shutter speed. SOLUTION: An image pickup sensor 4 which can expose plural photodetectors arranged like a matrix at least in the unit of columns, a focal plane shutter 7 which is provided in the front of the image pickup sensor and shields the image pickup sensor 4 from light in accordance with movement of the curtain in the row direction of the image pickup sensor 4, and a release means 9 are provided. A shutter control means operates the focal plane shutter 7 based on the release start signal outputted from the release means 9, and an exposure timing setting means 15 successively indicates the start of exposure in the unit of columns of the image pickup sensor before the timing of light shielding with the curtain. |
