PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor wear of a current collector during operation by providing a resistance body which is insulated from the current collector via an insulator, and has at least two or more layers of different resistance values in which the surface to be in contact with the trolley line is composed of a high resistance layer. SOLUTION: When a current collector wear monitoring apparatus 13 is perfectly insulated from the other apparatus within a control panel 6 on a truck, it becomes possible to measure a resistance value of a resistance body 10 even when the trolley line 4 is active and when a carrying track is not operated, it is always possible to measure a resistance value of the current collector 5 by switching a switch 19 to the side of current collector wear monitoring apparatus 13 to turn ON a switch 18 of the current collector wear monitoring apparatus 13. Therefore, monitoring for wear of the current collector can be executed to realize periodical automatic monitoring in the free timing such as when the carrying truck is in the sheltering position, or when it is not operated for the period longer than the constant period.
