PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically cut the braid of a shielded electric wire neatly and surely. SOLUTION: By cutting the exterior coating of a shielded electric wire 50 with a stripping cutter 72 and causing it to move forward in the axial direction of the electric wire along its braid, and grasping the outside coating with an electric wire clamp 75 and moving it backwards, the braid is gathered in annular shape and is cut into circular shape with a die 15 and a punch 29. A shielded electric wire working device 60 is provided with a die 15 and a punch 29 which is movable forwards and backwards into which a shielded electric wire is inserted, a first electric wire clamp 69 which grasps a shielded electric wire, a second electric wire clamp 75 and a stripping cutter 72 which is closable between the die and the punch is made avoidable, and a drive means 103 which moves the stripping cutter and the second electric wire clamp forwards and backwards. A stopper cylinder which regulates the closing position of the stripping cutter 72 may be provided. It does not matter if a scrap excluding ring plate is fitted to the die 15, in such a way as to be movable forwards and backwards, and if a lead-out path for air blow for moving the ring plate forward resisting against the urge of a spring is provided. |
