DOCUMENT RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the document retrieval system which efficiently and speedily retrieve documents even when retrieval display devices make plurality of document retrieval requests at the same time. SOLUTION: A data base file server 7 is set to a LAN 61 where a master file server 8 loaded with an optical disk stored with documents and a retrieval display devices 11 are connected. An acceptance and retrieval means 72 in the data base file server 7 accepts a document retrieval request and retrieves location information from a document location information data base 71. A high-retrieval-frequency document information managing means 74 monitors the frequency of retrieval requests and copies a document of high frequency to perform replacement with a high-retrieval-frequency document information file 73. An acquiring means 113 of the retrieval display device 11 acquires the requested document from the high-retrieval-frequency document information file 73 or master file server 8 according to the location information on the requested document.
