PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of an automatic vending machine, which can inexpensively rewrite a control program and whose extensibility is high. SOLUTION: The controller 1 of an automatic vending machine controls the various units of the automatic vending machine by permitting a CPU 11 to operate a control program 121 stored in a flash memory 12. A memory card 5 where a rewriting program 51 and a new control program 52 are stored is installed. When the memory card 5 is installed, the CPU 11 operates the rewriting program 51. Thus, the new control program 52 is transferred to the flash memory 12. Consequently, the storage capacity of the flash memory 12 can be reduced and the latest rewriting program can be used.
