PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a security function with respect to a network. SOLUTION: The device has means 7, 8 to acquire a password to terminals 2, 3 connecting to each interface of the network connector 1, a means 6 that discriminates whether or not a password replied from a connected terminal is a registered password, and means 9-12 that disables the use of a corresponding interface function to inhibit transmission reception of a frame to the terminal when the replied password is not registered, in error, and no reply comes for a prescribed time with respect to a password acquisition request sent from the network connector.
