PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress tendency of noise from a luminescent means to interfere with a signal and facilitate observation of the luminescent means from the outside by installing a conductive means in an insulating housing for forming a plug housing cavity and arranging the luminescent means in the vicinity of one side wall of the housing. SOLUTION: This modular jack 10 has an insert housing cavity 22 in a housing comprising a top wall 12, a bottom wall 14, side walls 16, 18, and a rear wall. A plurality of terminals installed in the vicinity of the rear wall and capable of surface mounting on a printed circuit board are extended to the front from the rear in close vicinity to the top wall 12, passed through the top wall 12, extended aslant on the inside of the cavity 22, and connected to contacts 45-52. A light emitting diode(LED) module 86 contains an insulating module 87 having a pair of LED housing recesses, and the LED can be observed from the front of the modular jack 10. The LED module 86 is easily replaced by releasing a hook engaging part and tripping a pin 102 from a slot hole. |
