OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR STRANDED WIRE AND CABLE CONDUCTOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconductor stranded wire capable of insulating between strands and showing a high critical current. SOLUTION: In an oxide superconductor stranded wire 170, a strand 160' comprises a filament made of oxide superconductor, a matrix made of silver or a silver alloy to cover the filament, and a copper oxide film 163' to cover the matrix. The thickness of the film 163' is not than 5μm. After a plurality of copperized wire are stranded, stranded wire is oxidized to form the film 163' and heated to the needed temperature for sintering oxide superconducting material. The stranded wire 170 through the sintering process can show a high critical current. The film 163' functions as an insulating coating having heat resistance.
