PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which can eliminate a fixed pattern noise by performing preparatory operations before photographing such as lens driving and diaphragm driving and measurement of the fixed pattern noise in parallel. SOLUTION: Since preparatory operations such as photometric operation, focusing operation, and diaphragm setting are required before execution of exposure operation of a CCD 11, the integrating operation is performed with the CCD 11 in the light shielding state to measure the fixed pattern noise by a picture data controller 25 during these preparatory operations. After exposure operation of the CCD 11, picture data is corrected based on the measured fixed pattern noise by the data controller 25.
