PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operational amplifier which can obtain a stable amplification output by preventing the output from overshooting or undershooting. SOLUTION: A level shift circuit 12 control the charging and discharging currents of the phase compensating capacitor C1 of an output circuit 14 so that they are constant for signals inputted to input terminals IN+ and IN- of a differential amplifier 11, and a current correcting circuit 13 corrects the charging and discharging currents of a phase compensating capacitor C2 so that they become equal to the constant currents controlled by the level shifting circuit 12, i.e., the charging and discharging currents of the phase compensating capacitor C1. Consequently, even if signals which rise and fall abruptly are inputted to the differential amplifier 11, a MOS transistor MP11 or MN11 does not enters an offset state to prevent overshooting and undershooting at an output terminal OUT.
