PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer data while utilizing efficiently a memory in the case of receiving still picture data from a video signal by one frame. SOLUTION: A facsimile terminal has an image processing section that receives a video signal as still picture data while converting the video signal by one frame outputted from a video device into a digital signal. A CPU controls the image processing section to extract the video signal by one frame into a prescribed number of frame divisions (S3). Furthermore, while the CPU applies digital conversion to the video signal extracted by each division frame (S4), the CPU transfers sequentially part of the still picture data corresponding to each division frame to a RAM via a buffer memory 5. The processing as above is repeated until all the still picture data corresponding to each division frame are transferred to the RAM 3.
