PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate visible artifacts at a joint of sub images by dividing an original image of a large size into two sub images in order to reproduce the large-sized original image. SOLUTION: This method for reproducing an original image on an image medium 27 comprises a step where a 1st sub image (21) and a 2nd sub image (22) that represent parts of the original image and are overlapped partially with each other are generated, a step where the overlapped area (28) is specified as an area in which both the sub images 21, 22 provide contributions to the integrated luminous density of the image medium 27, a step where circumferential edges 29, 30 of the overlapped area 28 21, 22 are established as to each of the sub images and a step where the contribution by the 1st sub image 21 is increased from the circumferential edge 29 of the 1st sub image to the circumferential edge 30 of the 2nd sub image.
