PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save electric power by supplying an electric power only to a necessary reproducing system according to kinds of data to be reproduced from a disk. SOLUTION: When a DVD disk is loaded on a disk recording/reproducing part 1, a control unit 3 judges whether the disk is a DSD disk or other disks by a disk identifier, and when it is confirmed as a DSD disk an internal power source switch control part switches off a power source to a program reproducing part, a video reproducing part, and a still picture reproducing part by making off internal power source switches SW1, SW2, SW3. The reproduced data read from the disk recording/reproducing part 1 is reproduced by an audio reproduction part as an audio signal. Since the power supply to unnecessary reproduction systems is switched off when the DSD disk is reproduced like the above, electric power saving is possible.
