STAND WITH COMMUNICATION FUNCTION FOR BAR-CODE READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely transmit data from an infrared-ray communication type bar-code reader to a host computer. SOLUTION: A stand 20 is provided with a communication pit 22 which accepts the tip of a pen scanner 10 on its top face. The pit 22 has a shape matching the scanner 10 so as to prevent the shaking and turning of the inserted scanner 10. An auxiliary substrate 31 is erected on a printed board 30 housed in the stand 20 and an infrared-ray transmitting-receiving element 32 is attached to the substrate 31. The element 32 is attached to the substrate 31 in such a way that the element 32 is faced oppositely to the infrared-ray communication port 15 of the scanner 10 inserted into the pit 22.
