PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup system that uses a P/S converter, an S/P converter, an E/O converter and an O/E converter in a transmission section of an image pickup system where an interlaced scanned image with 1125 vertical scanning lines is outputted while having a long distance optical transmission function between a transmission section (camera head) and a reception section (CCU) so as to output a progressing scanned image with the 1125 vertical scanning lines from the CCU. SOLUTION: A transmitter is provided with a 1125 system progressive scanning 3-board CCD 100, an A/D converter 101, a GBR→YPbPr converter 103, a Y signal time division device 104, two P/S converters 105, 106, two E/O converters 107, 108, and an optical wavelength multiplexer 110, and a receiver is provided with an optical wavelength demultiplexer, two O/E converters, two S/P converters and a Y signal compositing device. |
