PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required to output a pixel signal by transferring pixel signals read from the same block horizontally in the lump. SOLUTION: A color block CB 1 consisting of 8-line×4-column is formed to a complementary color filter, and a pixel block PB1 corresponding to the color block CB1 is formed to a CCD imager. All kinds of color components, that is, at least one each of G, Mg, Ye and Cy are assigned to respective columns of the color block CB1, a timing generator reads a pixel signal from respective columns so that a least one of all kinds of color components is included, and transfers the read pixel signal in the vertical direction. The timing generator transfers the pixel signal horizontally every time vertical transfer by 8 lines is finished. The pixel signals read from each block are outputted in the lump.
