PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or suppress the occurrence of a case where the driving noises of a recording/reproducing driver, the operating noises of various switches and the driving noises of the units of auto-focus and zoom lenses, etc., are picked up by a microphone by means of addition of a microphone unit to a large screen display unit. SOLUTION: A hinge 14 supports rotatively a large liquid crystal display unit 12 on a camera main body 10 and can open and close the unit 12. A photographing lens 16 is placed on the front face of the main body 10, and a stereo microphone unit 18 is placed on the top surface of the unit 12. The unit 18 is always set in its front direction regardless of an opened or closed state of the unit 12. Then the photographing is carried out with the unit 12 kept open in an environment where the noisy sounds are caused by the lens and tape drivers in a quiet photographing state. Thus, it's possible to prevent or suppress a case where such driving noises are picked up by a microphone by using the unit 18.
