PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle accelerator capable of simplifying a setting and confirmation work for beam energy, and alleviating working in initial setting. SOLUTION: In this particle accelerator, beam energy is set and inputted via a host computer 1, and the set value of the beam energy is transmitted from the host computer 1 to a beam controller 3. Then, the set value is written in a pattern memory 6 and the beam controller 3 controls an electromagnet on the basis of the set value, thereby emitting the beam of charged particles of intended energy. A set value in the beam controller is compared with an input set value in the host computer, thereby confirming whether beam energy is properly set in the beam controller.
