PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously and gradually increase and decrease the surface temperature of an induction heating roller to extend threads by heating in axial direction. SOLUTION: A magnetic flux generating mechanism 5 disposed in the internal part of a roller body 1 is partially provided in the axial direction of the roller body 1. Only a place facing the place where the magnetic flux generating mechanism 5 is installed produces heat, however a place which does not face it does not produce heat. In the place where heat is not produced, the temperature rises only by thermal conduction from the place producing heat. The temperature in the place where heat is not generated gradually drops as it goes away from the place generating heat.
