摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical amplifier applicable to a case, where light signals are required to be transmitted in the reverse direction similar to the case, when the state of a transmission line is checked by an OTDR(optical time domain reflectometer) or to a bidirectional light transmission. SOLUTION: An optical amplifying device is equipped with an optical amplifier 2, which amplifies first signal light inputted through an input port 31 and outputs the amplified signal light through an output port 22 and a four-port optical circulator 3. The optical circulator 3 is provided with first to fourth ports, 31 to 34, light inputted through the ports 31 and 34 is successively outputted to the following port, the input port 21 of the optical amplifier is connected to the second port, and the output port 22 is connected to the third port 33. An optical transmission device, equipped with a fracture point detecting function, is equipped with an optical time domain reflectometer which outputs optical pulses in the same direction besides the optical amplifier and the optical transmitter. A bidrectional optical transmission device is equipped with the optical amplifying device, a first optical transmitter, a first optical receiver, a second optical transmitter, and a second optical receiver which transmit or receive a first and a second signal light that are transmitted in two directions.
