PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device and a lighting system using same, capable of fine adjustment of a control signal frequency via digital operation control. SOLUTION: An arithmetic operation unit for generating a control signal fed to a lighting circuit means 2 for controlling the lighting status of a discharge lamp is selectively set at an inspection mode and an ordinary lighting mode with a setting means. In the inspection mode, a control signal is fed to the lighting circuit means 2 from the arithmetic operation unit so as to sequentially change the lighting status of an electric discharge lamp 3 and data corresponding to a control signal when the electric discharge lamp becomes a preset lighting status, is stored as standard lighting status data. Furthermore, the arithmetic operation unit reads out the reference lighting status data and starts an operation, and generates and feeds a control signal to the lighting circuit means 2 via operation, depending on the lighting status detected with the lighting status detection means 4. |
