PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow display of a device which is frequently used to be in an easy-to-see state and to simplify the procedure of operation by providing a storage means for storing the use frequencies of devices connected to a network and a display means, which displays a list of the devices in a form corresponding to the use frequencies. SOLUTION: First retrieval for a device on a network is made (S11). At this time, one device is found by a network management program. Then information on the use frequencies of respective devices is obtained (S12). from a data base. On the basis of the obtained information, information on the use frequency of the respective devices is calculated (S13). A calculated use frequency (S13) is assigned (S14) corresponding to the retrieved device (S11). The devices are sorted according to the use frequencies, and a device list is displayed (S15). Then it is decided whether a user has done operation for closing the device list (S16).
