A sealing system for sealing gaps around a rotating element (134) of rotary fluid machines, includes a pair of ring seals (142) disposed on either side of the rotating element and seals (144, 145) that extend longitudinally along the length of the rotating element. The ring seals (142) and longitudinal seals (144, 145) are biased to project from the rotating element (134) to thereby seal gaps around the rotating element (134). |
