PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency of regenerating a trap filter for removing soot in EGR gas even if an EGR is stopped in a high load region to prevent deterioration of exhaust emission. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas circulating device includes an EGR passage 10 for circulating some of exhaust from an exhaust passage 12 of a diesel engine 11 to an intake passage 13 and an EGR valve 14 for controlling the EGR quantity. Further, the device comprises a trap filter 15 for removing soot in EGR gas on the upstream side of the EGR valve 14 of the EGR passage 10, a by-pass passage 18 for connecting a space between the trap filter 15 and the EGR valve 14 of the EGR passage 10 to the exhaust passage 12 upstream from the inlet of the EGR passage 10, and a switching valve 19 for intercepting the by-pass passage 18 in the EGR operating region. |
