<p>PURPOSE:To automatically detect the angle of inclination by mounting a relatively wide tire where the contact point changes in the width direction according to the inclination in the width direction of a vehicle body at least to one of the front/rear wheels, and at the same time providing to an appropriate position of the vehicle body an acceleration sensor which is capable of detecting the direction and the magnitude of the acceleration in the width direction of the vehicle body. CONSTITUTION:The inclination of a motorcycle body 13 changes as the turning of the motorcycle advances, and the position of the contact point of the wide tire with the road surface also changes accordingly. As a result, the magnitude of the acceleration in the width direction of the motorcycle body 13 to be detected by an acceleration sensor 11 also changes. The angle of inclination is obtained by operating the desired values derived from the formula to show the relation of the acceleration values at the respective timepoint and the values such as the magnitude of the acceleration in the width direction of the motorcycle body 13 to be detected by the acceleration sensor 11 at various contact points in the turning of the motorcycle, the angle between the line connecting the center of gravity of the motorcycle and the contact point and the perpendicular line to this contact point, and the angle of inclination of the motorcycle body 13.</p> |
