The hydrocracking of hydrocarbons to obtain gasoline is effected in the presence of an iron-containing crystalline, metallo-aluminosilicate having a uniform pore size of 8-15 </>rA and having a silica to alumina mol ratio of at least 3, e.g. 4-6. Suitable conditions are 600-1000 DEG F. and 500-3000 p.s.i.g. using 500-25,000 S.C.F. of hydrogen per barrel. The catalyst is formed by ion exchange with a sodium aluminosilicate and is used in fixed or moving beds as pellets or pills or in fluidized beds with a particle size of 20-200 microns. |
