METHOD OF PROCESSING ALUMO-CONTAINING SLAGS

FIELD: processing of slags resulting from smelting of aluminium or alloys thereof, more particularly manufacturing processes of building materials and inorganic matter, and technology of preparing basic aluminium chlorides. SUBSTANCE: method comprises processing alumo-containing slags which comprise aluminium nitride by washing the slags with water to remove soluble metal salts. Water washing is carried out by addition of hydrochloric acid to attain pH of the final solution within 6.5-7.5. EFFECT: improved ecological production conditions in washing alumo-containing slags resulting from smelting of aluminium or its alloys with water, simplified evaporation of the resulting solution of metal chlorides and use of said solution for regeneration of cationic fillers.
