PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition with high heat resistance and thermal stability, excellent in discoloration preventive effect when subjected to high-temperature molding operation by including a norbornene-based polymer of low iodine value and a lactone-based antioxidant. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by essentially including a norbornene-based polymer with an iodine value of <=10 and a lactone-based antioxidant and preferably also including phenolic antioxidant and/or phosphorus-based antioxidant; wherein the lactone-based antioxidant is pref. a 3-arylbenzofuran-2-one bearing an aryl group as substituent on the side chain of the furan ring; and the phosphorus-based antioxidant is pref. tris(nonylphenyl) phosphite or the like.
