PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly execute copying service, while restraining maintenance cost, noise and power consumption by an image forming apparatus for executing copying service. SOLUTION: A digital copying machine 1 which functions as this apparatus is equipped with respective image-forming stations Pa, Pb, Pc and Pd for forming respective color toner images and is constituted so that the copying service is executed by actuating the respective image forming stations according to the sum of money inserted in a coin slot unit 100. In this case, a control part 103 predicts in advance a copying mode to be set in accordance with the sum of money slotted to execute the color or black-and-white copying service in a color or black-and-white copying mode, and sets the necessary image forming station among them to a standby state according to the prediction so as to quicken copying start. At the same time, wasteful operation is avoided, the maintenance cost, the noise and the wasteful power consumption are restrained. |
