PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make exactly guidable a driver to a destination by realizing at least the route searching of all map data from the starting place to the destination. SOLUTION: This navigation system is provided with a main arithmetic processing part 1 and a data base 9. When the starting place and the destination are inputted from a remote control unit 7, the main arithmetic processing part 1 converts the destination into latitude and longitude by referring to the place name and latitude/longitude information of the data base 9, and operates a route searching according to a prescribed algorithm for forming guide information. Also, when only one part of the necessary map information from the starting place to the destination is obtained, the temporary destination is successively decided based on the latitude/longitude information, and the route searching to the temporarily destination is operated. Also, a message for requesting the capture of new map information or the like is prepared, and the request message is displayed at a display part 5. Then, this processing is repeatedly operated so that a driver can be exactly guided to the final destination. |
