OPTICAL PLUG CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical plug connector which is good in touch at the time of insertion and removal, is free from the possibility of the dislodgment of a stopper and has excellent aesthetic appearance and further the optical plug connector which may be efficiently produced. SOLUTION: A plug housing 1 is formed with an optical fiber insertion path 4 between a front end 1a and a rear end 1b. The outer side at the rear end is formed as a connecting wall 9 capable of fitting and fixing a cover 2A with a mechanical locking piece. The cover 2A with the mechanical locking piece is provided with a mechanical locking piece 16 from the side wall toward the front end of a cover body 15 opened at the front end 15a. The front end of the cover body 15 is made fittable to the outer side at the rear end of the plug housing 1. A connecting wall 9 formed with the rear end of the plug housing 1 is provided with a slit 10 for mounting a stopper 11 to be engaged with the optical fiber 7 inserted into the optical fiber insertion path 4 of the plug housing 1. The part formed with the slit 10 is so formed as to be covered by the front end of the cover 2A with the mechanical locking piece.
