PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of automobiles housed by continuously installing (n) fork type parking towers in a column while smoothly entering and leaving the automobiles rapidly by accelerating the carrying speed of the automobiles among the entering-leaving sections of the automobiles and each parking tower. SOLUTION: In the fork type multistory parking device, (n) elevator type parking towers 1, 2, 3, 4 are mounted continuously in a column, an entering section 5A for automobiles is set up to the first parking tower 1 at one end of the parking towers, and a leaving section 5B for the automobiles is fitted to the fourth parking tower 4 at the other end while a carrying passage 6 for carrying trucks 8 and waiting passages 7 for the trucks 8 are formed among each parking tower 1, 2, 3, 4 between these entering-leaving sections 5A, 5B. Only an arbitrary number of the self-propelled type carrying trucks 8, on which forked fixed stages 82 are loaded, here two carrying trucks 8 are arranged on the carrying passage 6, and reciprocated and made to travel.
