PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for screening the gold chemical sensitizer to be used in silver halide photographic elements. SOLUTION: This chemical sensitizer to be screened is the water-soluble gold complex to be used in the silver halide photographic elements. This screening method comprises experimentally measuring the electrochemical potentials of the gold complexs and determining whether these potentials are in the prescribed utility window or not.
