PLASTIC OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the transmission characteristics of a plastic optical fiber(POF) cable consisting of a POF. SOLUTION: A process for winding up an optical fiber 1 or bundling it is included in a POF cable manufacturing process up to the completion of a POF cable by spinning the optical fiber 1 by heating and fusing a POF preform and applying a resin coat or the like to the spun optical fiber 1. In the process for winding up the optical fiber 1 or bundling the optical fiber 1, the optical fiber 1 is dropped on a bobbin 5 like an eight shape or a single collar bobbin by its tare so as not to generate a point contact part between optical fiber parts 1 but to form linear contacts between them to wind up or bundle the optical fiber 1.
