PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a proper contour correction at the time of enlargement processing and reduction processing of an image. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with EPROM 38 for memorizing coefficient data for enlargement and reduction of an image, coefficient reading-out control parts 40-44 for reading out the coefficient data from EPROM 38 based on an enlargement/ reduction selection signal, a horizontal characteristic variable filter 16 and a vertical characteristic variable filter 18 for executing either of processings of image enlargement and image reduction based on the coefficient data, a frame memory 20, and a contour correction circuit 14 and a selector group 22-30. The selector group 22-30 sets the processing order of an input image signal at the time of image enlargement processing selection, so that the order becomes the contour correction circuit 14, the frame memory 20, and the filters 16, 18, successively. Hereby, the processing order of the input image signal at the time of image reduction processing selection is set so that the order becomes the filters 16, 18, the frame memory 20, and the contour correction circuit 14, successively. Therefore, at the time of image enlargement processing, a part not to be emphasized essentially is not emphasized, and at the time of image reduction processing, a wide area frequency component emphasized by contour correction does not vanish. |
