PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage the reproduction-side processing time in encoding of a multichannel voice signal at a variable compression ratio. SOLUTION: Predicting circuits 13D1, 13D2, 15D1-15D4 and buffer and selectors 14D1, 14D2, 16D1-16D4 preductively encode a 6-channel voice signal. A DTS(digital theafter system) generator 17 generates the decoding time stamp information showing the timing of reading a compressed data within a decoding- side input buffer according to the quantity of the predictively coded data for each channel, and a format formation circuit 19 formats it to a packet header including the decoding time stamp information and a packet having the user data including the compressed data. |
