A lock apparatus for a door or window has at least two space d apart lock assemblies 11 & 12 operatively connected to each other. Each lock assembly 11 or 12 has a housing, a hook bolt 17 or 18 rotatably attached relative to the housing for movement between an extended locked position and a retracted unlocked position. An elongate slide member 27 or 28 has one end operatively attached to bolt 17 or 18 and another end extending from the housing. Slide member 27 or 28 is reciprocally moveable to cause hook bolt 17 or 18 to move between its locked and unlocked positions. A rigid link member 30 interconnects each slide member such that reciprocal movement of one slide member causes reciprocal movement of the other slide member. A handle 41 is attached to one of the slide members and can be manipulated to cause the slide members to reciprocate.
