The non-aqueous electrolyte battery has a metal ring (6) hermetically sealed around each terminal (2, 4) by an insulating material. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery comprises: (a) an electrode assembly (1) fitted in a battery housing (8); (b) terminals (2,4) which are electrically connected to the electrodes by current collectors (3,5) and which are sealed in corresponding housing holes by an insulating material; and (c) metal rings (6) which are hermetically sealed around the respective terminals by the insulating material and which are also hermetically sealed in the respective battery housing holes. Preferred Features: The insulating material may be a glass seal (7). Alternatively, the insulating material is a ceramic material brazed by a Cu-Ag or Cu-P brazing element to a copper (alloy) or nickel (alloy) negative terminal (4) and brazed by an aluminum brazing element to an aluminum (alloy) positive terminal (2).
