<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near infrared absorber for the electrophotographic toner capable of enhancing the efficiency of absorption of light energy and conversion of light energy into heat energy and fixation strength in flash fixation by using the specified near infrared absorber. SOLUTION: The near infrared absorber to be used is represented by the formula in which each of R1 and R2 is, independently, an optionally substituted alkyl group; R3 is an H atom or a nitro or NH2 group optionally substituted by R4 and 5; each of R4 and R5 is, independently, an optionally substituted alkyl or such aryl or such alkyol- or aryl-carbonyl or such alkyl- or aryl-sulfonyl group; and M is 2 H atoms, or divalent metal atom, or tri- or tetra-valent substituted metal atom or oxy-metal atom.</p> |
