PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apartment house, in which daylighting and ventilation into a residence are carried out while ensuring the privacy of each dwelling unit and which can also correspond to a doubtful person by minimizing even the space of a common corridor. SOLUTION: In the apartment house 1, an open ceiling 3 is arranged into a residential building 2, and a bridge 7, to which one outdoor fire-escape stairs 5 connecting upper and lower floors and one elevator 6 are annexed, is arranged in the open ceiling 3. The apartment house is based on the formation and arrangement of a dwelling-unit group 4 prepared by joining the entrance sections 9 of four dwelling units oppositely faced to the open ceiling 3 to the bridge 7, and the habitable rooms of the dwelling units are faced to the open ceiling 3.
