PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seaming machine excellent in strength and watertightness, stable in tightening work, and capable of solving inconveniences such as rain leakage in a seaming work, and a metallic folded plate roof excellent in strength and watertightness. SOLUTION: An electric seaming machine is used in a seaming work of a metallic folded plate roof 1 in which a roof is constituted by tightening a plurality of folded plates 2 by seams 3, 4 on both side edge parts. At least one pair of tightening rollers 9 comprising a pair of rollers 10, 11 opposite to each other to hold seam parts from both sides so that the small seam 4 and the large seam 3 are lapped on the inner and outer sides, and the tightening rollers 9 are provided with roller surfaces having a recessed part to store a head part of the seam part in a roller center part and having a roller top part and a roller bottom part on both sides across the recessed part. Generation of over-tightening of the seam parts, and distortion and cracks at a neck part is prevented by ensuring a gap (3t+ts+ta) mm between roller bottom parts in a seamed condition, where (t) is the thickness of the folded plates, ts is the thickness of a clip interposed in the seam parts, and ta is a play of the gap to satisfy the inequalities of (-0.5t<=ta<=0.8t).
